A venomoid snake is a Venomous reptile that has undergone an operation" if you can call it that" to have its venom glands removed to supposibly make it safe for some fool to handle and show off.

The surgery is done by persons that are as a rule NOT qualified Vets. This is normally preformed in as the old saying goes " back rooms" In unsanitary conditions with tools purchased on some occasions from hardware stores. How these people are actually giving let alone getting the correct medication is also highly questionable.

The mortality rate is extremely high. Some of the arguements are why not do it ? Look at what we do to our dogs and cats . Well here is my take on that. Breed standards have been around for what a hundred or more years. The surgerys for them are preformed by qualified vets and are not hazardous to the animals health. If there is some fatalites from clipping ears and tails or spay and neutering it would be very slim. On the other hand the people preforming these surgeries on reptiles which do not react well in the first place to stress or medications are dieing from a surgery that serves NO legitimate purpose and is in no way beniffical to the animals and it might also be a deterament in their feeding abilities" unproven yet".

The soul purpose for the surgery is PROFIT. They are taking a low price animal of say 100$ for example doing the surgery and resaleing it for 400$. That is their soul modivating factor.

If you want and love an animal for its natural look then why alter it just so it MIGHT be safe handle. The odds of playing Russian Roulet are good to I understand if your not handling the gun or in the game.
