humidity quetion...

I'm looking to increase my humidity slightly in my IJ's tank. it's an all glass tank (I know not ideal but i'm working on something permanent). In the mean time though I gotta deal with this. Is there something I can put on the top so that less moisture escapes? A towel, tin foil... what? any suggestions would be worth a try I guess...

Firstly, what is the humidity at in your IJ's enclosure now?

yeah we need some more information, like the humidity level now, what your setup is and what you're thinking of changing. something to raise it that works for me is putting a damp paper towel at the bottom, new substrate (mulch works best), bigger water dish, cover part of the lid with a damp towel or cover part of the lid with a garbage bag, tinfoil etc.... those are some suggestions,

right now I have a 25G all glass with mesh screen lid. The current humidity is 40%. I don't want to raise too much, just a little.... i'm using cypress mulch as substrate.

Dude If this is just a temporary enclosure why not just use a rubbermaid drill some holes in the side. the water dish alone on the cool side will put it up to 60-65%

I'm with Derrick. Seeing as the size of Rubbermaid you need only costs $5, what's the point in even trying to jimmy around with an aquarium?

very true... i do have a rubbermaid that I used before but i'm not sure it's big enough... how big of one would I need for an 8 month old IJ? WHat dimensions? thanks a lot...

i am planning on setting up a tank for my ij, as his last setup b4 his permanent adult one. I wanted to get a glass tank mainly for display reasons. Is there a lid that i can get that isnt mesh or wiring, to make it more 'ideal'? or even if i were to put the tank on its side with the opening facing forward, a covering for the front that has a hinged door?
