Ventilation question!

Im setting up three 20gal rubbermaids for a BRB, BP, DJC, and was wondering where i should drill the wholes.

Would about 8-10 in the lid be ok or do i need some on the sides of the tank as well?

The size of the wholes would be about the size of a penny. Is this to small?

I never drill holes in the lid. Heat and humidity rise and the more open space at the top, the more escape it has. I find cross-ventilation is best acheived with holes drilled in all 4 sides, each environment will be unique in how many and what placement. Holes the size of a penny are pretty large. I wouldn't put anything larger than 1/4" holes.
