View Full Version : Poecilotheria spp.
Hi everyone,
Since you all seemed to like the pictures of the P. rufilata and
P. ornata, I decided to post some more.
Starting with a young female P. regalis.
Enjoy
Martin
Next is my huge mature female P. fasciata
Next is my female P. formosa.
This is the ventral vue of the same female P. formosa
Note that P. formosa does not have bright yellow under the legs... it is more an creamy ivory colour.
Next is a rarer one, a small P. subfusca.
OK, time to take out the big guns!
Here is my female P. smithi, possibly the rarest Poecilotheria spp. of all...
She is very secretive, so I had trouble getting a good pic of her...
OK, last but certainly not least... the most sought after species of theraphosid in the hobby...
P. metallica, I hope those pictures turn out not too bad... this is truly an amzing species...
Here is one of my small females
And another female of mine...
wow, those are some nice t's...

:jawdrop: Gorgeous!!
Thank you everyone, I am glad you appreciated... Poecilotheria spp. are very interesting animals...
LOL, Cooper, maybe I should get a life insurance for having a P. smithi!
There are already pictures of P. smithi on the arachnoboard, that is why I have not bothered even if they are extremely rare...
As far as where on earth I got it, let's just say that getting rare animals is sometimes a lot of digging and working hard on the right contacts...
Take care

Hot damn! Nice pokes Martin! Great collection! :)
Here are a few pics of my freshly molted P. subfusca, I hope those do her better justice then the previous...
Some new P. metallica pics as well... let me know if you had enough...
Those animals cannot stop moving, I am having a hard time capturing the blue...
Time to put some more pics...

Where did you get metallica?
I imported them... I was the first one to get them in Canada... a month after, one of my buddies also imported a few...
It is sooo beautiful! The colouration is awesome. I am soooo jealous. You must spend soo much time with them. Not just caring for them, but observing them. A couple of times a day I go into my herp room and just look at them. Very interesting creatures. I love watching them groom themselves! I am sooo happy and feel priviledged to have them. I wish that I could come and ogle your collection! Ha ha, if I ever did, you would have a hard time getting me to leave! Keep up with the pics - I love em. Thanx!

Dani, if you ever drive up here, just drop by... but reserve a full day!LOL
I am glad you enjoy the inverts...
Take care
I just read another post that reminds me to thank you for the time you took to post great answers when I was deciding to choose my T's. It was incredibly helpful. Just thought that you should know that. It's people who take the time that make this site so awesome.

 Holy Poecilotheria spp., Martin!! They are gorgeous!!
I must say that I like the P. subfusca the most :) Soo pretty.. *drool*
Indeed Emily, P. subfusca has to be one of the most beautiful of them all... even though P. metallica is very hyped and is the most stunning, I have a sweete spot for P. subfusca... and they are so hard to find...
