Has there been any any interests results from cross breeding the different sub species? Or is thier more concern about keeping the bloodlines pure and seperate as there is no new breeding stock comming from the wild?

There has been a lot of Diamond X Scrub and Diamond X JCP crosses popping up in collections all over the place, so I'd imagine there is some interest in at least the diamond crosses. If you wanted to do something like a Coastal X IJCP, you'd probably find yourself with a lot of babies that nobody will buy from you.

They've all been crossed up the ying-yang, but you'll have better success staying pure. Only cross I can think worth doing is Jag x Jungle.

The thing is that the American carpets are so jumbled together that its hard to tell whats pure and whats not.....and in reality, a "pure" JCP can look dull and brownish like a coastal, so going by whats pure and whats not isn't really a good way to go. Just do what you like and go from there.

I recently traded off my Coastal X Jungle female that would have been totally breedable this year. I did it so I wouldn't be temped to breed her back to a pure JCP male. I figure unless it has Diamond or Jaguar in the equation stick to pure stock as there is enough "Mutts" out there already. Mark I.
P.S. A tidbit for the people who were in EDM this past weeekend. The female I'm refering to's brother was on display at that show. They had it labelled as a Jungle, but I know different heh heh M.I.
Invictus,
where'd you hear about the Diamond X scrub?
I've never heard of it done. Any info would be great.
Thanks
