how big of an eclosure should a baby IJ be kept in? and for how long. I want an IJ, and was thinking of converting a sectino of my dresser into an enclosure.. its outer dimensions are about 4x2 so the enclosure would be slightly smaller than that...and i could make it about 2 feet high
This will be fine for an adult correct? i could always put the baby in a smaller temporary enclosure withing the big one..

I would not recommend putting a baby in anything bigger than a shoe box type plastic container. That would be fine for an adult though.
That would be fine for an adult, yes, but you might want to ad another half foot or so in heigh so you can put in a few shelves for them.
As for the baby, you could put him in a plastic rubbermaid, and just keep getting bigger ones (maybe 3 over a year or two) until he's big enough to go in his cage.

oh, ok thanks... ive been talking the andy on msn, and decided i would go the rubbermain route. keep enclosure costs down to a minimum, also that would give me time to do the work on the dresser. It raised about 6 inches so i was thinking i could do what someone here did b4, with the hide compartment that is under the rest of the tank (but then i would have trouble with heating right?) , and i was going to either use a horizontal sliding door, or have a top hinged door that was the top half of the front panel..
I could add another foot of height, but i was thinking i would leave the top 2 drawers in the dresser so they could still be used. I have a smaller dresser that i just have crap in, i guess i could clean it out and put my stuff i need drawers for in there..
well im just goin on and on, thanks for the replies..hopefully i will have an IJ in the near future :)
You've got it all planned out! :)

i keep my baby IJ in a plastic container, its hard to keep variable tempetures so i use a heat mat. 90 on the bottom and slightly cooler as it climbs up, about 85F
my container is about 8"x4"x4".

IJCP's should be kept at low to mid 80's. I also provide a small basking area in the low 90's.
Take a look at this caresheet from VPI, it covers general maintenance/housing.
