Would you guys like to see the venomous forum split up?? I see 4750 or so posts in the one, would it be possible to split it into 2 or 3 forums??? Let me know if you guys want like a General, and 2 other forums... I am not sure what they would be because I dont know anything about hots.. LOL

jeff, that a good idea...i think 3 forums MAX, maybe even only 2, i dont think it would be useful to split into mor than that

lets here everyones opinion on the subject.

I say:
General Forum
Viperidae
Elapidae

seems to make sense that way, all other families of hots would just be posted in the general, but those two cover the largest families

I am quite content with this forum the way it is. The traffic is not such that posts are lost and it is simpler to access when all posts are on the same forum. I would not like to see it changed at all.

i say their should be a rear fang forum...

Agree with Matt and split the forum into:

-general venomous (for other species, other discussion ...etc)
-viperdae
-elapidae

I agree traffic doesn't seem to bear the need to seperate by species or family, but maybe a 'venom or anti-venin' forum, or possibly 'new venomous research', maybe a 'venomous handling' forum or 'new to hots' forum. I sometimes find a desire to post some of the hot scorp or tarantula seperate from the regular invert forum but don't see the traffic for one. Here we may easily see both a gaboon and cobra posted in the same thread possibly even with a hognose to boot, our major contributers to the forum in many cases own both vipers and elapids and many topics do not divide along family lines.

Can we get a venomoid and free handling forum and somehow ban BW from ever entering?

BW is going to host the venomoid and free handling forum. He is also going to provide all related photos.

Let it stand as one forum. The traffic does not appear to warrant it being split.from past threads it appears that though a subject might start with one species and people respond about it other species seam to get brought in to the thread and that more learning occurs from that.

As to the Void / Freehandling forums. I say we must tie BW to a chair and force him to read every thread fully. And he cant respond.

I say you guys do what you need to do....... I like it the way it is but its because of the people on here not because it is split or not split........Jeff, you have my support no matter what you do to the site....... Just dont put a venomoid forum on here....LOL

My humble venomous self will agree with Matt. Maybe splitting in 2 will eventualy get more people in here. By seeing only "Venomous" the 1st think is "Oh, well ok, venomous" and leave. If they see one "epalidae" and second "viperidae" or one "general venomous" and second "toxicity, antivenom" maybe he will think "Oh, let's find what's all those means"

What about a forum dedicated to toxicology only. That forum would relate to all venomous including lizard, snakes, spiders ,scorpions.I know that the LD50 seams to be brought up a lot.

LMAO!!!!!! Hey guys this forum in YOURS, not mine... Thats why im asking! Seems the majority would like to see it remain the same for now, so thats what we will do... I agree the traffic isnt huge ATM, just wanted to see what you guys wanted is all.. ;)

I vote for a venomoid forum! ;)

I do agree with Matt that a General, Viperid, Elapid and also a Rear-fanged forum might make things more organised. But that's just me. I have to organise everything! Had the neatest table during grade school! lol

I think keeping it as one forum would be best, because kingsnake splits their forum up and I think that it kinda chopped things up too much. I would rather click on one forum with all of the messages about hots. I think it keeps things more unified. Maybe adding a separate toxinology/immunology/venom research/more scientific venomous forum would be cool.

Just my 2 cents........

I am new here, so I have not spent much time posting and reading threads. I like it the way it is myself. Easy to understand and look around at what is up to debate. Having the three Forums; General, viperidae and elapidae are not a bad idea either. No venomoid stuff though.........

I think there should be a section on Rear-Fanged and one on Toxicology, otherwise, I feel the forum is fine as is.

I just got here about a week ago. The forum seems great to me. Why mess with a good thing.

I think last year you guys talked about this, and nothing was changed. I don't mind the way it's set up.When it's all on one page it seems like you get more input rather than being separate.
