I can't beleive it!

I ran out of rodents for my varanids so I unthawed some chiken wings .. I had a mall piece of wing left .. a bit longer then an inch and around as a dime..

One of my yearling colombian rainbows jumped on it and ate in in a minute.. I was quite surprised and entertained lol

Just my story of the day

Interesting! I wasn't aware that you could do that...is it just as good for them as mice or rats?

current sanitation proceedures do limit problems with 'for human consumption' chicken, but I only feed whole bird (feathers, guts, ect) on the rare occassions I feed chicken.

I never feed that .. I garantee u it is not nearly as good for them as a whole prey item but I tried it for the hell of it .. and to my surprise, it worked lol

I'd be careful with that. I haven't heard any stories about BRBs, and I know they aren't usually too picky, but I've heard stories of snakes getting an unusual food item, loving it, and then refusing anything else and holding out until they get the item. The story that comes to mind was someone who decided it would be funny to feed his burm a turkey for Thanksgiving. After that the burm only wanted turkey!

Makes sense. Chicken's a bird. Rainbows eat birds, hence rainbow eats chicken piece!

I don't agree with feeding chicken pieces to snakes period stick with rats or mice and also it's not for the fun to watch you should be thinking about the snakes health first.

What health risks are associated with feeding a rainbow boa chicken peices? Its not like you have to worry about him choking on a bone or something.

That just doesn't seem right to me. But, if it doesn't mess with the health of the snake..

I'd just be worried about the snake being able to handle a chicken bone. I guess that would depend on the size of the snake. Just be careful.
