Very pretty. Is that a juvie or an adult. I know the Agkistrodon here all have yellow tails used a caudal lures. Just curious if it is the same with them or if they perhaps retain it through adulthood.

A very nice ammodytes! How old is she? I got a male few months ago, they are awesome snake. For Matt- they are not very bad tempered at all, but will huff when annoyed; sometimes when my male fall asleep he doesn't even know I walk close to him, very funny.

BWSmith, by mistake i wrote "his" on a previous post. Of course she's a female. Right now she is close to 4 months old.
As she growes up the yellow will become less bolder and only females have yellow tales.
In a few snakes color dimorphism, separates the male from the female.
Meaning that the females are brown and the males are grey-brown.
I have the Agkistrodon bilineatus taylori and by observation i can see that these two species ar far related. They share many common characteristics.
-Anatomy of their body
-Angles of the head
-Head posture (erect)
-Speed
and others...
Yes ETET, these are very tame hots. My friend never uses a hook he just grab them by the tale. (Only his vipers-not WC).
Once they get know the place where they live they are very docile and only if they pressed a lot they will attack, or if they frightened by something sudden.
How did you get your male? Where are you from?
