I finally found my last peice of wood for the cage (i hope). It was hard and took way to long to get, but i think well worth it. Any suggestions on how to improve upon the cage is greatly appreciated.

It is 4'Lx2x2'. 6" dirt (will be 10" tomarrow). basking temp is 90-93f, ambiant ranges from 74-82f (lots of diff temp areas...). I am wondering if pothos is a good/bad idea. I took pics of both, but too it out after pic, just in case.

The big peice of wood is resting on the bootom, and so is the rocks/cinder. It cannot burrow underneath them.

Ok hers what I who’d do with your set up!
First id take out all rocks and cement blocks, and replace them with a pile of leaf litter, then I who’d ad a shelve to elevate the water container witch I who’d cover and leave only a hole in center, this will prevent much debris to enter and will stop the monitor from wetting the entire cage with he endless back and forth thru the water container, last I who’d eliminate the wire mesh and replace with Plexiglas, then you’d have what I call a minimal set up that if properly heated will permit your animal to thrive not just survive!

Done and done. Thanks for the input. What do i do for vent if the top is plexi? Should i use side vents (like those ones in the floors for heat)?

I forgot to mention, its about 2'L.

Thanks again!

Yes you can use the floor thing, take a plastic one that’s adjustable for air flow, also you need only one no more.

Your basking spot is WAY too cool. When I kept peachthroats, they used to bask at 110-120.
