My IJ came today. I put him in his 10 gallon. got an uth heater for his heat, and a 25 watt light bulb on the top for day/night cycle, and to throw some extra heat. although his temps seem to be just right. He struck at my like 6 times already. One time he would have hit me square between the eyes if the glass wasnt there to stop him. I wound up taping paper towels around the outside to hopefully make him feel secure.

I got him from Mike Humphrey. Couldn't be happier with the transaction, and the communication. Mike even included a card which had the snakes birthdate, 5/9/03, and a log of when and what all his meals had been.

I got a couple picture of the little guy today, but nothing good, he was coiled and trying to tag me. little ******* :)

I know alot of people have said theirs were nippy when they first got them. How long did it take them to calm down to the point of being handleable?

I took mine about two weeks. But my friends jungle took almost two months. When they are little it doesn't bother me. At the most they draw a little blood but it doesn't hurt.

Yeah, carpets are vicious little bastards when they are first spawned. :) He'll calm down though, and the bite isn't that bad. I say get some gardening gloves and handle it anyway once he's settled in.
