ball spur

my question is this, my brother has a ball and the spur unknownly was cought on his shirt. he pulled the snake way from himself and the spur came off. there was no blood and the snake made no indication of pain. does this happen often?

no it doesnt......if that happened to me i would call my rep vet just in case

Did the whole spur come off or was it just the outter shell?

it was the outter shell, the spur was hollow and there is a nub were the spur used to be

Should be fine. As long as there is no blood, there is no need to apply any topical medications. Just keep an eye on it.
