Big Eastern Kingsnake in Virginia *PIC*

This big fella is slowly doubling back to strike at the hand holding his tail (my hand). It's a good thing I can operate the digital camera with only one hand :)
This specimen was 5 feet easily and very muscular.

Nope, I leave the wild in the wild and take only photos, I'm a field herper not a snake hunter (tongue planted firmly in cheek) ;)

too bad, 5 foot kings are pretty rare. would love to have some breeding stock of that size.

Truth be told, I would have loved to keep him, I would love to keep everything I find, but I think I am more satisfied watching them go about their business and then moving on. He was quite the impressive beast; wrapped his tail around my wrist and made it numb. He didn't smell too fantastic either :)
