My first herp was a little black aquatic frog named Michigan Frog.....you know, after the singing Bugs Bunny frog? :D

I'd love to get another one, they're neat even if they do just float there...:)

I started with a pet shop RES in one of thoes little bowls with the palm tree when I was 13. The lady that sold it to me still works for the same store and we talk about what a monster she created! This poll was a great idea!
Cheers,

My dad brought a common garter snake home when I was about 5 and we (he) made a cage out of a old wooden wine case. That was a great snake.

When I was 9 years old I asked my parents for an iguana and they got me a green anole  I'm glad they got me that instead because I wouldn't have been able to take care of an iguana. The anole lived 7 years and was named Rex! :D

My very first none mammal animal I cared for was a rosy tarantula and that was over 15 years ago! Yes I know, I am getting old. I've cared for pretty much ALL common snakes, lizards and amphibians so i guess it wouldn't hurt to make a small list of what I used to own. Leopard gecko, savanha monitor, ball python, red tail boa (I miss Alice ALOT), green tree frogs, tokay gecko (rescued from a sticky pad in a pet shop), My wifes Huge and aggressive male iguana. All I own now apart from litterally a hundred tarantulas is a dog, cat, fish, turtle and unless I forgot something, that is it for now.

My 1st herp was a very beautiful and tame green water dragon, summer of 1996. He was always on my shoulder or hands and his glance was the cuttest of any herps i have owned till now. I missed him.

Well w/c frogs and toads for me but I had two /RES that I had in one of those plastic bowls with the little palm tree. That was wayyyyyyy back when. One of the turtles escaped and I didn't find him/her for 4 months. It was all dehydrated and scrawny but once put back in the bowl lived for years. Wish that we had the balanced diets that there are available now . I bet that bugger would still be around.

My first herps were a pair of RES. Those guys were awesome. I used to love how they'd follow each page I flipped while doing my homework. That was before college... after them, I african blue tailed lacertas named Zeus and Perun. I miss them all.
