I need to varnish the whole INSIDE of my cage (its got a plywood interior wich needs to be covered..)

I am not looking for something fancy .. but simply something that willl make it reasonably waterproof during heavy misting and lessen the offgasing of the plywood..

I was looking into using a verathane water based...

Is this a good idea? If so .. how long before I can put my cute non-furry creatures back in..

Any other sugg. would be apreciated!

Thanks in advance Dom

Hi Dom

The water based Varathane should be okay. Another good one is the Minwax Polcrylic (water based again).

They are both quite water resistant and will stand up to misting just fine.

Leave it to cure for at least four days or so (preferrably with the lights on to add some heat). Make sure there is no smell left before you put the critters in.

oops, one more thing.

If this is unfinished plywood, I would put on at least three coats, allowing a days drying time between each.
