i have 2 questions about corns

will the pine chips that you use for hamsters workfor a substrate

if i pla on breeding how do i now whch 2 snakes to get

the best one to use is aspen shavings, not pine shavings.
and u can buy your snakes from a breeder who has sexed the animals.

Agreed.

You can also use paper towel, or newspaper. Both are very clean cheap substrates as well as aspen.

And again I agree, when you want to breed corns you can buy pairs from breeders who already have the babies sexed, or take your chances buying an unknown, and have a vet or other experienced person probe them.

Can you try and use some grammar here? Do answer your question on how to know which 2 snakes to get to breed...a male and a female lol, try and find some that are garanteed sex. Really man, read over your post before you click "submit".

isnt Pine supposed to be slightly noxious to snakes? something nasty in it or so i`m led to believe
in any case, what ever substrate you use,, most important things are -
temp is right and temp gradient is right
humidity is tolerable
there is water to drink
several places to hide
and you feed it in another container if possible... a large tupperware box or something... lst thing you want is for you new snake to swallow repti bark or aspen shavings with his meal... that leads to problems.. even fatalities......
apart from the feeding thing and noxious pine vapours, the only substrates to avoid are the sand-like ones as they tend to be dry and irritate the snakes skin
