Im using coconut subtrate and i think it isn't holding enough moisture. today i went to check up on my BP and he only had his head and neck area shed off, he tried to get the rest of it all off but it wouldn't come off, i completely drenched the warm side of the area of his enclosure with water so the humidity is 100% is that a good idea? I think i'd have to change the substrate after this...

We help our snakes shed by putting them in a wet snake bag overnight.

hope this helps.

he only got his head, tail, and his belly off. There was alot of old skin on top of him, so i just pealed it off of him slowly.

Here is a tip for next time.
Right before your bp sheeds it turns duller in colour and the eyes are cloudy. Soon as you notice this your snake should be lying in the water bowl ON HIS OWN, therefore you are in the clear. If your bp is not in the water simply mist him one or two times a day. This never fails me for a perfect sheed.
PEACE OUT!

Try mineral oil. Either rub him down with it and mix it with water and submerge him in it for couple hours.

my snakes have not had trouble shedding for a long time, but when they did i just soaked them in a tupperware box with room temperature water for a couple of hours. just fill the box up with water up to the thickest part of their body then leave them in it
for an hour or so, when i take them out it easily comes off.
make sure you have air holes!!!!!!!
