Just curious what brands of equipment the hot keepers are using.

Gentile giant , home made hooks, forceps and tong from a hospital, cheap probes, and some interestingly bent hangers lol

We don't own any hots but we have some snakes which think they are! Plus we have some bigger boids. After hearing opinions and reading reviews, we heard that their standard, small, and python hooks are second to none. Plus it helps having a friend as a distributor! :D

I use 80% Midwest, 10% other manufacturers, 10% homemade like plexi-glass tube for full grown bitis which midwest oversize plastic tube doesn't fit very well.

I feel my rubbermade garbage cans are handeling tools, I use them way to often not to. From tubing to cleaning I would be lost without em.

I use mostly Farmont with a few odd midwest here and there. Furmont is definately my fav, especialy their stump ripper!!! The midwest version cant hold a candle to it!

When I first broke in there was not a midwest, or at least I didn’t know about them. I began catching venomous snakes off the road using a 5 gallon bucket and some type of long stick, shovel, broom, or what ever was handy. I turned the bucket on its side and swept or ran the snake into the bucket, then used the stick to stand up the bucket and then locked it down. It worked well for me in the beginning. Around the early 90’s I began to see books on reptiles in pet stores. After seeing professional hooks in the books, I constructed a set and taught myself how to use them. They worked much better in the field for me. I later constructed a noose out of string and PVC. I discontinued the noose later on after deciding it was too rough on the snake. It wasn’t until recently that I began to use Midwest products. I was still using homemade hooks when I meet Anthony (unBOAievable). He had a nice selection of Midwest products. I was impressed with the convenience and quality of Midwest, so now I use virtually all Midwest products. In my field book I have 1 collapsible tong, 2 collapsible heavy duty hooks, 2 pocket hooks, 2 20” professional hooks (less then an once a piece), 1 set of tubes, 1 set of probes, all types of forceps, and my field equipment (lights, crow bars, etc.) I give Midwest my highest recommendation.
