tricks?

this is a late night question, but has anyone ever heard or seen, even own a snake that is trained? not just trained to expect food but to do tricks? ive never heard of one but if you have id love to hear about it. (ok slithers, roll over! good boy, heres a pinkie. now make a s. ) ok thats enough, good night. :O

ive heard of snakes that reply to there name if there looking at u and u say it (bit like lip reading)

I don't think they're brains are big/complex enough. And if they are smart enough to have learned behaviour, or do tricks I would think of them more like cats than dogs, you know, is buisy sleeping, or not caring.
My turtle is slightly trained, but not to do tricks. I think that would take alot of patience, and time. Besides I think snakes don't have ears to hear like we do, so how could they respond to a command they can't really hear?

I read somewhere that there was a snake that would come if the owner thumped on the floor. But that is definitely not the norm; my snakes pretty much just laze around and people watch.

LOL the only animal in this house that does any tricks besides the dog is my Cockatoo.
On the serious side of it ......How about Cobras being trained by the movement of the Snake Charmer?

One of my BPs is trained to bite me whenever I reach in to pick her up. I'm working on untraining her right now.

Cobras are not trained with snake charmers they just dont like people in thier face. I have never heard of a trained snake. Mine still refuses to learn how to go to the fridge and get me a beer.

Cobras cant hear the music, they simply are "enchanted" by the movement of the charmer guys little horn flut thing that he plays. I saw something on TV about it. They said the only thing that keeps them from biting is the sound waves and swaying of the instrument, it confuses them. And when they DO get bit, a lot of charmers have a little stone thing thats supposed to draw the venom out. Yep.

Some also "vaccinate" themselves with small bits of venom every now and then. Apparently it works very well. Some of those snakes also have been mutilated into venomoids, and/or had their mouths sewn shut.
