This guy is a jungle X coastal carpet cross - a pet only, not destined for breeding and a great snake - the most tolerant of our carpet pythons. An older photo while feeding and a newer one of him stretching out in his new cage - he is only about 6 feet but he moved into a cage that is 4 X 4 X 2 feet so he has lots of room to stretch out now.

Mardy - I totally agree he looks more like a diamond cross - he has lots of white within the black scales and has a definate pattern along his sides, without any real striping I would expect from a coastal influence. His black and white patterning is so distinct too. We got him from Henry Piorun and I have always thought he would be accurate about the source and history - so that is what we have gone by. He looks a lot like some pure jungles we have seen too.

Zoe - This is the cage he was in til a month ago - a corner cage my husband made from scrap materials that is housing our female jungle now. I really like the way it turned out. The photos of his current cage are on my other computer so have to add those tomorrow.

Finally got to adding the photo of the new cage this guy is in now - quite a bit bigger - we planned it to accomodate him at full coastal size. He is on the floor behind his water dish - so can't see him in this picture but he is very active - uses the full area of the cage. A bit hard to keep the humidity as high as it might be in this cage, but we have added a humid hide on the floor under the shelf.
