Red Axanthics

Here are some updated pics of my Red Axanthics. I was having problems with my adult male Red Axanthic a little while back. As of a couple weeks ago he hadn't eaten since Dec 30th 2002 and on top of that it appeared that one of his hemipenes got infected from breeding (it might have been removed??). Well, after the Fortazx injections have been completed he's back upto 100% again and eating frozen/thawed rats like a champ once again.

Anyways, here are some pics:

Extremly Crappy pic as far as quality goes! What you have in there is 1.2 Red Axanthics (adult male and 2 females from 2002) as well as 1.0 Black Back (Red Axanthic line), 1.1 Pieds, 1.0 Albino (from my Caramel albino line), 0.1 Pastel and 1.0 Black Stripe.

Female Red Axanthic with one of the Black Backs (Red Axanthic Line).

The other female Red Axanthic from 2002 with the Black Stripe Male (this is from my line of Black Stripes which is unrelated to the Red Axanthic line).

This is the Red Axanthic male with one of his favourite females. This pic was taken back in March. I believe this is the female that damaged one of his hemipenes.

Can you explain (again) why they are called Red axanthics?

When the Red Axanthics hatch out the are purple in colouration. Myself as well as Ralph Davis both believe that they contain trace amounts of red pigment. Their full name is "Red Axanthic Black Back" however for short they are called "Red Axanthics".

My Pastel het for Ghost male bred 12 females for me this season. I have multiple clutches from him on the way this season.........one of those being him bred back to his Orange Ghost mother. So, I have the potential to produce pastel ghosts. My pastel het for ghost female probably won't produce this season for me.

I will keep everyone posted on the project. I will have lots of pastels 50% possible het for NERD line Orange Ghosts available this year!

How rude of you to post a pic like that!!! Making me drool on my computer desk right after my wife dusted!!!!!!! (just kidding, of course!!). Love those pieds, they are still my favorite bp morph. How hard is it to ship animals into the US (as in if I wanted to purchase some het pieds from you, for example)??

It's not hard for me to ship into the USA at all. I have to do up CITES paperwork on my end, however, that only takes 1-2 weeks to complete. Once the shipment lands in the USA you'll have to have it inspected at US Fish and Wildlife (they inspect all shipments of live animals going and and comming out of the USA).
