I'm new to southeastern Connecticut and I want to find a vet out here, incase any of our snakes need to go on short notice. What is the best way to finding one?

Currently our snake has horrible eye caps and I have been calling around places I've gotten thru the phone book or yellow pages online. So far no one has made me feel really comfortable about their knowledge. I even called veterinary optomologists and they didn't seem to know much about snakes. So in general, how should I go about picking a good one? And if anyone has any recommendations for a doctor in the surrounding CT area, please let me know. I'm willing to make the drive if it's for a doctor who has great knowledge and feel for snake issues.

Have you tried looking through the members page at ARAV or seen if there were any decent references at www.herpvetconnection.com?
