leos are native to pakistan, fattails are native to africa, and bandeds are native to N. Amer.
All terriestrial, leos being the most diverse in colors. Fattails have a few color morphs, striped, banded, and smething they are calling pied. There are a few breeders too that have produced albino fattails, but the prices are nuts.
Banded geckos are less popular, and cheaper in price to purchase.

African Fat-tails are cousins to Leos but there from different regions. Leos=Middle East; Fat-tails=Somewhere is africa. They are similar but fat-tails are less hardy and need slightly higher humidity requirements and therefore cannot be housed together with Leos. Not sure what banded is referring to. Leos are typically yellow and black while fat-tails have more reds and browns in their coloring. Hope this helps!

They're all very very closely related... All belong to family Eublepharinae, terrestrial (Cat Geckos aside), and own movable, functioning eyelids. Some are just slightly more evolved down the family pathway and adapted slightly differently over time. All are equally beautiful... I could see how people that really weren't into them could say they look alike. Each have their own, slightly different requirements for captivity, and should never be kept together... Even if they may been thought of as "cousins". As everyone's already stated, the leos and fat-tails are the most popular and bred extensively throughout the years, but the bandeds can be just as hardy and even easier to breed than the leos and fat-tails.

Leopards: pakistan, afghanistan
Fat-tails: africa
Goniurosaurus species: asia
Cat Gecko: malaysia and surrounding islands
Bandeds: United States - texas mostly
Yucatan Bandeds: mexico
Central American Bandeds: uhhh... self explanatory??? lol

Sorry... Got off on a tangent, these are my favourite group of herps... So... Yea, I like to ramble.

Fat-tails are actually hardier than leos... The mortality rate is higher yes, but not among CBs. Most adults seen around at WCs... perhaps less now, but last year it was difficult to find a CB. Some say they are hard to breed, but I had tremendous success. Morever, they are much easier to handle, even as babies.

Fat-tails and leos look the same, but leos tend to be bigger and are yellow with spots, whereas fat-tails are banded (brown/light brown).

Cat geckos is the general name for these beautiful eyelid geckos. Generaly cat geckos are much more tamer than all other geckos but also less colorful than others. Cats are breeding easy and are very hardy geckos. Leos' scientific is Eublepharis spp. Africans' is Hemitheconyx spp. and Bandeds' is Coleonyx spp. The cat banded gecko "Coleonyx variegatus" it's a very beautiful eyelid gecko that sparingly show up in the herp trade hobby. A very rare and very beautiful cat gecko from Asia is "Aeluroscalabotes felinus". Either you have a cat or this gecko it's the same thing. Once in my life i saw one male from a crazy and rich herper here in Greece. If you didn't had any other eyelid gecko before and thinking of starting. You should start with anything you like. All eyelids are hardy animals easy to care and breed.
Hope this helps :)
