(Note this post is best viewed in threaded layout, where available.)

Living Gems Reptiles is pleased to finally profile the (remaining) babies from its 2018 “E” litter.

Born on July 9, 2018 to Vulcan (a July 2013 male with strong red color and vivid neon orange side crescents)…

…and Pearl (a July 2010 female noted for her intense orange color and her distinctive “pearl” dot in the center of her head)…

As a baby – note the head pattern:

As an adult at age four:

…this litter represents the first pairing of these two animals.

The babies in this litter were high-color stunners almost from Day 1. In addition to good color, they have very consistent side crescents, with many having fat ones as well.

All are now well-tested at almost two years old, with numerous successful meals and sheds. As has been outlined in previous posts, all of these babies come from a disease-tested facility.

As with all LGR litters, we’ve done dozens of handling sessions for each baby, part of our commitment to start acclimating them to humans.

Over the following posts, please find a short profile of every surviving baby in the litter. For each, a short description is provided, noting any behavioral or physical quirks, along with a selection of photos. For dorsal chains, “short” means two to three linked spots, and “long” mean four or more.

So grab a cup of your favorite brew, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

If you like what you see, and want first dibs at any babies, you can sign up for our Wait List via PM.

Thank you as always,

This little lad was an “almost” holdback, due to his stunning color. He has nice thick side crescents, and a cool-looking for at the end of his center head stripe.

This young boy has some minor dorsal chaining on his back. He has amazingly consistent side crescents, and sports his mother’s trademark “pearl” dot on his forehead.

This small stunner was one of my favorites due to his personality, and his strong color and vibrant side patterns made him an easy holdback pick.

This little lady is one of only two surviving females in the litter, and as any breeders needs girls, became a holdback. She is not quite as brightly colored as her sister, but has very strong, almost neon, side crescents; and a gigantic pearl mark square in her head.

This young girl is one of only two surviving females in the litter, and as any breeders needs girls, became a holdback. She has strong color, tightly packed dorsal spots, and the litter’s typical strong side crescents. She also has a nice pearl mark, but a tad smaller than her sister’s.

This little mystery lost his number sticker while I was sick, and so became known as Baby Double X. One of these days I’ll try and compare birth head shots to ID him, but for now it works for him. Due to his impressive color and amazingly neon crescents, he is my second male holdback.
