I noticed today that Conrad, my young corn snake, doesn’t have that checkerboard pattern on its belly like corn snakes do. Is that common? It’s all white. I’m very new to keeping snakes so please forgive my ignorance.

Belly pattern depends on the morph/genetics. What variety of corn snake is he?

We got him out of a tank that said normal corn snakes from our local shop. So I really don’t know.

the photo lighting is a bit strange but as far as i can tell it is either a very unique wild type, or a morph. i went looking through the morph list (Ians Vivarium - Guide to Cornsnake Morphs (http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/)) and i think it resembles toffee a lot. I haven't seen a picture of that morph's belly though so i can't confirm nor deny that they have patternless bellies. might just be a little trait your snake has! like my snake's merged spots!
