I am new to the forum, and ready to learn everything I can! I'm making an enclosure for a ball python and want to be sure to get EVERY detail correct before I buy my new girl! I'll make a separate Thread for that of course. ;) but I would absolutely love to hear from anyone and everyone about what they know and are willing to teach me! :)

Welcome to the forum Kimberbee! Glad to have you here.

I don't have a ball python, but I'm sure that plenty of people will chime in to answer your questions.

Welcome to the forum! And soon, the wonderful world of snake keeping!!

You're already off to a great start getting your enclosure set up BEFORE bringing the snake home. Make sure it's up and running and temps are dialed in before you bring your new pet home.
This will save you and the snake a lot of stress.

Do you have specific questions? Cause just telling you all we know could take forever, hahaha.

Besides, getting all the knowledge that these people know about ball pythons all at once would be too much for ordinary people such as you or I :P (jkjk)

Haha! Well ALL of it would be appreciated, of course! I did make a thread in the enclosure section, since I’m trying to build my own wooden enclosures I have questions like how to heat the wooden viv without cutting into it (heat tape or cable, and how/where should I put it/the probe to measure the heat.) and what I should SEAL with (my current biggest issue) because I don’t want to harm the snake with lingering chemicals that can’t handle the heats? I have more but those are most important for now!

Hahaha, I hear ya. My best advice is to read, read and read some more. The more we know about our pets the better we can care for them.

Also, be sure to cross reference anything you learn before putting it into action. There's lots and lots of varied info out there, so make sure you are learning from experienced keepers.

Forums are a great place to learn. And like I said, if you have questions please ask. We're happy to help. Don't be afraid to ask questions that might sound silly, that's how we learn. And it shows you care.

Good luck, please let us know how we can help.
