Hello everyone, new to this forum. I got my Western Hognose last Friday, first pet snake in a very long time. I put him in his new home and decided to leave him alone for awhile. Let him de-stress. Today I thawed a pinkie, placed it in a tub and transferred the snake to the feeding tub. I want him to associate the tub with food rather than my hand. At first I was a little worried, he showed no interest in the food whatsoever. After about half an hour, he stopped searching for a way out and realized there was food. He swallowed the mouse very quickly. Yay! He ate. I put him back in his home and he went straight for the hide on the warm side of his tank.
I plan on offering a meal every 4 or 5 days.
I couldn't be happier. I'll post pictures sometime soon.

All in all sounds like you have got it handled however I still recommend you feed him inside his enclosure, they feel safer this way. You can use a snake hook or a pen to let your snake know it is not feeding time by picking him up with it. During feeding time use tongs so he doesn't associate your hand with food.
Hope this helps!
