Snake in our AC unit this morning. He was a mean little fellow. Took him further out into the woods and let him go.
Don't want him to bite one of our Great Danes.
What kind of a snake is this? Poisonous?

A geographical location would help as well.

Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus), harmless. Nice find.
Completely harmless corn snake as mentioned.

Thanks, guys.
Picked him up with some tongs and put him in a bucket, he was striking and biting like mad. Maybe harmless but seemed real mean. :Wow:

It was just afraid, it's a tiny little snake and you're a giant predator. It thought you were going to eat it and it was doing its best to defend itself. It can't understand that you were trying to help it, lol.

Yep, let him go in the woods safe & sound.
Would you guys have kept him for a pet?

Myself...no. Prefer to keep only captive bred.

I've been known to keep some WC animals as pets for short periods. But they generally don't do well in captivity unless you really know what to do (which I didn't). Captive bred is usually the way to go. Especially for more common species that have been in the industry for as long as corn snakes have.
