View Full Version : Does a large Boa Constrictor need a hide?
Does a large Boa Constrictor that is 9 feet long need a hide in the enclosure? Or will the snake feel the size of its body and recoginze that its not vulnerable to predators anymore and thus does not feel the need to hide?

I always give the option to hide. Nice big bits of cork bark look good and are cheap or you can go ghetto and use things like cat litter trays with holes cut in.

I'd still give them the option to hide. Many adults will use their hides, some won't. Depends on the snake and whether or not the hide is appropriate (too big/too small, half log vs enclosed with entrance, etc.).
