Yesterday I got my first ball python, Tesla. He's a butter ball python, and just about a month old.
I bought a small cork log as a hide, and was very happy when he first crawled through it. This morning when I woke up, he was in the log. He stayed in there for quite a bit, so I decided to check on him. Turns out, he was wedged in the log and was freezing cold (mind you, the log was on the cooler side of the cage, and I could tell he wouldn't be able to unwrap himself). I had to break it open with my hands and pry him out, and with a little bit of struggle I managed to free him. He's a little upset right now, because I only put him in his new habitat yesterday. I know snakes are very resilient animals, but he was very cold and was in that spot for a while... how long should snakes stay on the cool side?
