I couldn't get a bead on this one. Any ideas? We're in GA. Unfortunately this guy was DOA in my friend's driveway.

Dekay's Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi), harmless. This is an adult, they don't get very big feeding on slugs and the like.

Aww...poor little thing! I saw a two foot black snake on the road the other day, DOA as well, but at least it looked like a swift passing based on the pointy end being squashed. Cars and wildlife just don't do to well together...

Might just be the lighting but that looks like it's almost hypomelanistic.
