Second snake incoming!

Welp, I've been talking about it for long enough, haven't I?

I stumbled upon someone who had a litter of high-red Brazilian Rainbow Boas, and I ended up snagging a colorful female!

She has been eating and shedding just fine, and the breeder said she is calm and inquisitive when being handled.

I paid for her today, and she will be shipped to me next week. I'm really excited to meet her :) Now thinking of names....

I was following a few really nice breeders, but Ike from Ike's Exotics on facebook had a nice high red litter in August. Due to me having a tub open up thanks to moving Chaska to a new enclosure, the timing of those babies being ready to ship (before it got too cold) worked out well.

The new baby will be shipped to me early next week :D

Shipped today :) She is the cup on the top left. Will be picking her up from a Fedex depo tomorrow right after work!

Right? I'm super excited. I'm reviewing my list of name ideas, though I'm unlikely to settle on a name until I've had her for a few days.

The tracking number says she is ready for pickup at the Fedex depo. I wish I could leave work now and go get her! But I'll get out of work as soon as I can :)

SHE IS HERE! Squee incoming!

She seems all good and healthy, despite being shipped all night. She wasn't even nippy when I pulled her out of the cup. Scared yes, nippy no.

I LOVE HER THOUGH SHE IS SO TINY AND SO BRIGHT. I put her in her enclosure right away after snapping these pictures...now for the hard process of leaving her alone to settle in. I keep wanting to check in and look at her, haha. Good thing I have Chaska to handle in the meantime :)

I think so too :) I hope she turns bright red like her parents, but she seems like she will be beautiful no matter what!

Very nice, Ike really does produce some nice snakes. I'm sure she'll be even more of a stunner in a year or two.

I'm thinking I may name her Avatre..... I had a whole list of Brazilian names and whatnot, but I kinda went "meh" at all of them. So branching out? Avatre is a crimson/gold dragon in one of my favorite books.

Anyways, I was thawing a mouse for Chaska and I figured I may as well thaw a fuzzy for the new baby as well, while the room smells like mouse.

I offered and...she struck the fuzzy so hard a leg popped off. I was impressed!
What a great feeding response! :D I'm glad she ate, that means she is feeling good. After she digests and all that, perhaps I shall give handling (and additional pictures) a shot :)
