My hognose always poops in her old water bowl (she outgrew it so I just put it in there as decoration). She also likes to sleep in there. Do snakes designate a pooping spot or is she just weird?? I think she might like pooping in there cause I always clean it right afterwards so for her it might seem like a magic poop vanishing bowl.

All depends on the individual snake. I've had snakes that will only poop in a waterbowl. Will poop in a specific corner. And those that poop all over the place. Some people who keep tubs have snakes that will poop and crawl all over in it spreading it all over making a huge mess.

No, none of my snakes make a habit of pooping in their water bowls. I get it here and there, but it's only an occasional thing, and not a single one soaks. The ones I offer humid hides will use that before going to their water bowl. I'm lucky enough even my retic is a very neat pooper/peer, she makes as little mess as possible. lol
That said, pooping in the water bowl might make it easier to clean, but man I'd rather not deal with that smell.

My milk snake prefers to poop in his bowl as do my Anacondas. For these guys I give them a soaking bowl and a deep but narrow bowl to drink out of.
