I've heard alot of rumors with hoggie and I've been putting a fair amount of research into them. What are the records you've heard of and please try to validate them (if possible) . While we're at it let's add popular opinion on what the average is.
Age-Record- Highest I've heard is 25 years.
-Average- Maybe 15-20 years?
Weight- Record-1067 grams!? Can't verify but supposedly from Stefan @ RBE.
-Average- F~300 grams M~100 grams
Length- Record- 41 inches!? Same snake as weight (unverified)
-Average- F~ 25 in. M~18 In.
Clutch size-Rumored at a 60+ (unverified) but have personally seen 33.

Feel free to add new categories, but I can't think of any.
Also please don't call me out for any of these they're just rumors and finding out some truth is the purpose of the thread.

I have 5 and just do the best I can with the info I have lol. I love all of them though one female is rediculusly active! I even put her in a larger enclosure and she's still all over the place!

Yeah, they are sooo cute. Like ball pythons, but with more laid back attitude (I mean, bp are sooo easily stressed and go off food soo often...) :D

Cmwells, Inalso have 2 BPs lol. I was bad at a repticon earlier this year (march) when I pucked up a male lesserbee BP and a male redphase hoggie. Then about 2-3 months ago I was talking to a woman on craigslist who ended up giving me a female ivory BP, male extreme red hoggie, male yellow conda hoggie, female yellow phase normal hoggie, and a female albino hoggie all for 140$. It was more of a rescue though as the BP was 7 months old and only weighed 70 grams, had bad stuck shed, and bad case of mites, and 3 of the hoggies had respiratory issues, one the vet didnt think would make it...but he did!!! (Yellow conda male).

Also, they are soooooo awesome!!! It's hard to compare hoggies to BPs since they really are sooooo different. My hoggies are almost always out, actuve (some more than most) curious, easy to handle, and have funny personalities. They are bluffers though and 2 of mine do hood up, hiss, and put on a good show of being the meanest things ever then are suuuuuper chill when I handle them lol. Silly things.

Yeah, I know, but in the topic of cuteness, they are similiar to bp's. Both are having soo adorable faces <3

And sorry for the off top. One of the things about hoggies I always was seeing in care sheets is that they don't climb much. And talking to some owners their hoggies often use all the space and branches they are having. Maybe they are not the masters of climbing and often are falling down, but still...

Lol, they're terrible climbers! I have a male and he cruises his tank regularly, he'll "Climb" but it's more like he's moving forward and it happens to be in the direction of the branch and he just rides up it. But he doesn't move from one to another, usually just up and back to the ground.

Mine LOVE to climb!!! Again, not very graceful, but they constantly want 'up'. That's part of the issue with my one female. She's constantly trying to get up on things. She's also my more hyperactive of any of my snakes.

Yeah the climbing is ridiculous! the you gins are in ziploc weather tubs that have a small ledge near the lid, and I find them (some more than others) laying up there all the time. I almost squished one about a week ago because I didn't see him hanging out right there! Super sneaky! :cool:
