CONTEST SUBMISSION PERIOD NOW CLOSED. PLEASE VOTE!!

Since it's too late for an August contest (life happened and I didn't get it up in time), I am combining it with September's contest.

Congrats to CrotalusR#1 for winning the last photo contest! CrotalusR#1 has proposed this as August/September's theme:

Nicest Specimen - what you believe is your nicest specimen for its species. (Not necessarily your favourite animal, but what you believe is a prime example for its species.)

If you have any questions about the theme, or contest, ask away over in the August/September discussion thread!

The rules are as follows:

1) Each participant is allowed only one entry. Photos submitted by anyone must be taken by you and not be a picture from the internet.

2) Pictures must be related to reptiles only and must be within the theme set by last month's winner in order to be eligible.

3) The winner may choose the theme for the next contest, but may not participate in it.

4) It is understood that the winner gives his or her permission for their winning entry to be posted on the portal page, and/or otherwise used by sSnakeSs.com with credit being given to the photographer.

5) No photoshopping. Minor edits are OK, but the photo must be as close to the original as possible.

The winner will be chosen by a poll conducted on the forum.

The deadline to submit is Thursday, September 24, at midnight eastern standard US time. After that we will vote.

Please note: this thread is for submissions only. If you wish to discuss the contest/submissions, please post in this month's discussion thread.

This is a Speckled Kingsnake I found a few months ago. (Lampropeltis Getula Holbrooki) This is a "perfect specimen" in my opinion because of the actual yellow, compared to the whitish specks that you see in many other specimens of this species. This individual was about 3 feet long.

Unfortunately this little guy didn't make it out of the baby stage but he would have been a beautiful adult. Sorry little buddy.

That's very hard to chose when you keep 15 species of snake ... Azula, female Elaphe prasina.

Wild one... but she was soo big and so well camouflaged that I was really impressed. I didn't saw her until she moved, and then I was like wow.

I have to go with my rufous beaked snkae. Shes a wild caught specimen and when she had 2 ticks but aside from that no scaring or any battle wounds at all.
