View Full Version : What is this? BCI issue after shedding.

Hi.

My het ghost boa, Dante, shed today, and here is what I see on him. Any idea what that is?

Weird, I've seen a lot of snakes do that but I don't really know why. Side note, thats a dumerils boa? It looks like a BCI lol.

Oops! Thanks. I was holding the Dumeril's while writing this thread, so I wrongly typed that Dante is a Dumeril's. He is a het ghost. Lol.

Looks like a scar honestly. Could have been that she had damaged scales that came off with her shed.

It's a theory anyway.

Agreed. Scale loss. They will heal up. Very minor. Question, do you feed him live??

Yes, he eats live rats. I am always watching and I know that he hasn't been hurt by any of the rats. It must be something related to shedding.

I do know Dumerils do tend to get a patch white scales like that under their chin with age. It is nothing to worry about.

It looks like a new set of scales. This will usually happen when the previous scales were damaged. Nothing to worry about, my Boa has a few from her younger years.
