(Not sure how the posting system works here! If I'm waiting to be approve by a moderator for my last post, I apologize for making this new one.)
I have a 7-8 y/o corn that I rescued from a kid that wasn't taking care of her. I scheduled a vet appointment for her, and we're set to go this Wednesday (6th). I made the appointment last week, but she went into shed on Saturday. I'm not sure if I should call and reschedule the appointment, or take her in anyway. Any advice?
I got her 6 months ago and never got her checked out, so I definitely don't want to cancel, just reschedule.
P.S. This is my first time taking an animal to the vet, as she is basically my first pet, so I have no idea what to expect.

Whatre you bringing her to the vet for? If its scale related id wait, just a general check up should be fine.

It's scheduled as a general checkup, but I am slightly concerned about her scales. She was living w/o heat for years & the kid never spot cleaned. Dirty enclosure + no heat makes me wonder about her scales a little. I'm just concerned about it a) stressing her out and b) making it difficult for the vet to assess her health. Do you think that would be an issue?
(She's in blue today)

I would take her. you don't know how long it would take to shed. It might be a little more stressful for her, but you would have the security of knowing that she's fine. I don't think that the blue phase would obstruct the vet from identifying a mayor issue.

You can take her in but if theres minor issues with the scales she may just shed it off. Do her scales look bad, feel bad?

Not particularly, but she has some scales that look broken off. I'm not 100% sure though.

If there are damaged scales due to improper care theres not much a vet can do about that. They will simply heal in time after a few sheds. However with the way it was being cared for by the previous owner a general checkup would be a good idea.

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to go forward with the appointment this Wednesday, I'm crossing my fingers that nothing's seriously wrong!

Great call, and kudos to you for getting a baseline to work with from a vet. I think that she is in shed is a good thing for the vet to include in his exam.
Vets are never a bad idea :)
