View Full Version : Wait to feed? Or no?

So I recently moved locations and obviously my snake came with me. He was due for a feeding 2 days ago. I didn't feed him since I was moving him the next day and didnt want a regurge. So now, after having about 24 hours between now and the move, should I try to feed him? He's never refused a meal and always eats enthusiastically, but I don't want to waste a mouse if he might be too stressed to eat this soon after the move. Part of me says to wait a couple days to let him calm down, but the other part of me wants to feed him to keep his familiar schedule. He is in the same tank, so I'm not sure how much "acclamating to the surroundings" he has to do

I think you'd be ok either way. It can't hurt to try and it can't hurt to wait. If your snake is showing signs of being hungry I'd feed him. If not, wait until he starts foraging for food.

No big thing to wait for a few days, and let it get settled in.

A couple days won't hurt anything. Sometimes my snakes go a week late because I'm gone on their feeding day, or hold back food because I want to feed everyone on the same day. I have a schedule that I mostly keep to, but it doesn't bother me if I miss their scheduled day. As long as they're not being starved, missing meals or eating late won't hurt them.
