"Eaten Alive" is a show that Discovery Channel is planning to air. It's disgusting and cruel and needs to be stopped.
https://www.change.org/p/discovery-channel-stop-the-airing-of-eaten-alive-boycott-discovery-channel
(Excerpt from the petition)
The Discovery Channel is now commiting animal abuse for creating a show called "Eaten Alive." A grown man in a "special suit" is planning on being eaten alive by a Green Anaconda. This is animal abuse to the highest degree and absolutely disgusting, and could kill the snake - an adult green anaconda cannot fit the width of an adult man's shoulders into it's body. It once again reinforces the negative stereotype of snakes, which one would think would be the opposite of what Discovery should be trying to do. Please sign this petition and boycott the Discovery Channel and get this show taken off the air. I would like everyone to tweet and post to the Human Society so a prominent organization can take action.

That guys' a ********* moron. First of all, how does he think he's going to entice the snake to swallow him? In that suit, he will not smell or look like something that can be eaten. I seriously doubt that an anaconda would even try to constrict and eat him, unless it had been severely starved beforehand...
Then, if...IF....it does try to constrict him, that suit had better be crush-proof, or he's dead meat. And that brings us back to my first point...if he cannot be constricted, he will not be seen as food, and the snake will likely not try to consume him.
Then, if the snake does somehow manage to swallow him, ripping him back out of the snake via an attached rope will be traumatic to the poor snake. It could cause tearing of the stomach and esophagus and even kill the poor animal. At the very least, I am almost positive that the snake will sustain some degree of injury.
I can't believe that someone who claims to be an animal lover and "proponent of conservation" would think for one second that this is an acceptable idea. It's ridiculous showboating and will do nothing but perpetuate people's fear of snakes. Idiot.

Wow people are all over this!! The remaining signatures needed showed 250 or so when I signed this. I just refresed the page and we are at 11 to go! I really hope this, or something, gets through to them.

He covered himself in pigs blood. It's already happened and been filmed. Just hasn't been on tv yet.

Unfortunately, it's been filmed and has an air date of Dec. 7th and is already being advertised on Yahoo.com. There are so many snake hating people and people who just don't care that will want to watch the show out of curiosity. It's like a car wreck, it's terrible, but people still want to see it. It's going to happen. Personally, I don't have satellite or cable TV, this way I not tempted to rot my mind with this kind of garbage. Even some of those who have signed the petition will watch it, so they can how bad it is. It's human nature and the media counts on it.

I signed the petition too. This stunt has no scientific value or educational purpose. I'm pretty sure the snake had to be injured in some way. What a douchebag.

Everything I've read so far says the Anaconda is ok and alive.

This is sad and disappointing. Remember when Discovery Channel used to be good? Now it's full of this garbage...

Thank you for posting this. I signed it back when there were only like 20 total. but it needs to be passed around more. this is one of the worst things that could happen to the hobby. and at one point I was surprised by the programming that nat geo, disc, and animal planet had turned to but it is just their M.O. now. their is no longer an educational channel on tv. even history turned into alien crazed crap.

Discovery Channel= "Discover How Desperate We are for Ratings!"- random reality shows interweaved with car stuff and killing nature
TLC= "The Loser Channel"- seems to be crappy reality shows of pretty awful people, combined with gimmicky cultural exposes.
The History Channel- I used to call this "The Hitler Channel" because it seemed like they were showing nothing but WWII stuff, but now it seems to be taken over by alien and paranormal conspiracy theorists. They have a show about chasing bigfoots....come on!
I honestly haven't paid much attention to Nat Geo lately.
I really enjoy Science and the Smithsonian channels. Those two seem to be at least mostly sticking with shows that have true educational and scientific merit.
