When you were bit. Did you pay for the bill yourself or someone else did?

what he said. even if you take all the precautions in the world the question is not if you are going to get bit but when.

I don't think people will be impressed but rather just shake their heads. You will almost certainly be bitten if you keep up that behavior. Just so that you know what that can entail, you might want to do a Google search on a young lady that was bitten near Savannah, GA this past summer where the cost for treatment was over $54,000 and she had no insurance.

If you don't care what we think, why are you sharing pics of you freehandling your snakes? You obviously care about the feedback you get.

Yes, you can play with whatever you want, but we can also express whatever opinions we have. This is afterall... a public forum.

I wish you would reconsider your stance and your attitude. The government, PETA and HSUS is looking for any and all weaknesses in the reptile community to sway public opinion on reptile keepers to their line of thinking. I hate to admit it, but you and your pictures of free handling venomous species are just waiting to be exploited by the aforementioned entities.

If you cannot show, or do not want to show the proper way to handle Venomous animals, please do not post pictures of it.

I do not own or work with any venomous snakes, but my father did, and I never, ever saw him handle any of his Eastern Diamondbacks without a hook...and he always had a second person on hand who had experience with those to assist him... He respected the nature of his snakes.....you have no respect at all for what they can do to you with one slipup...

I have insurance. Only a fool wouldn't

Have you looked into what it covers? Will it cover everything to do with a bite? If you survive a bite will they renew with you or will you be allowed coverage from any brokerage? If so, can you estimate the higher premium amount?

Now let's say that still doesn't cover the cost or that you die. Do you have proper life insurance? If so, do they know your lifestyle and what you do? It may not pay out so your family is stuck footing the bill for the funeral costs and any current debt you may have.

Now say you survive but lose a limb or a limb is severely impaired and you can't function properly at work. Do you have the proper disability coverage? Do you have any? Do you know how it works and how long it will cover you for? Do you know how much you would recieve? Is it enough for your day-to-day living expenses?

If you can't tell, I know a thing or two about the impact this decision can have on one's life. I see it daily.

I have life insurance. Blue cross blue shield also. I have really good credit because I pay my bills. Also I own my home and property. All of my animals have customized tanks with lots of room and all the perks. I work and make a lot of money so I can afford my hobby. My animals are happy also . Look. I hear your concerns but it's my life. My home. And it's what I like to do. Steve Irwin died living his dream. I'm sure I'll die living mine. I do primitive hunting also. That being jump from a tree with a knife and kill hogs. That's a rush. But I wouldn't suggest everyone try that. Look at the gatorboys. Do you persecute them for swimming and wrestling gators????. I am a pro at what I do. And Im not breaking n e laws. But for those of you that are scared. Don't own reptiles.
