View Full Version : Respiratory issues adult female blood red
Hey guys here I am again. Been having respiratory problems with my adult female blood. Had a junk heating rock which I recently ditched and picked up a large heating pad. I was told to up the heat to about 90-92 degrees F however to get rid of it but can't get that high until my hearing lamp comes in. Her sneezing like sound is much less frequent and doesn't seem to be as loud but, still hearing her gurgle when I handle her. No liquid has been secreting from her mouth. Very worried about her right now. Any advice helps! Thanks guys.

In my experience, its best to take her to the vet and get a round of Antibiotic Shots. You don't want to allow it to keep going, otherwise you will have what I'm dealing with with my foster girl (She was confiscated from a pet store by animal control) who has permanent respiratory scarrage and gets respiratory infections multiple times a year and needs antibiotics each time.
I also have to treat her differently then you would a healthy snake. She can't be on loose substrate at all due to open mouth breathing, and so i created special pads out of fleece and terry cloth that i rotate out when she goes potty.
I also have to be highly careful on smell build ups, and dust around her.
Hey thanks for the advice. I'm going to try all home remedies before considering taking her to the vet. Don't really have the money for that right now anyways. We will see if the temp just needs a good bump up once my lamp comes in. Since upping the heat a little bit I have notice an improvement.

bumping the heat up by 5 degrees usually only works at the very early stage of a RI
it's worth a try,but imo if its at the gurgling stage, then a course of antibiotics will be required
cheers shaun
