Just peaks my interest to see what people are into so I thought this would be fun since I'm bored.

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes?

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know?

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice?

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be?

Personally I'm into the larger snakes, always have been from a young age, I started out just staying in my comfort zone for probably about the first 15 years, now I want a challenge, I'm definitely more of a python guy by far and I have decided to make a pair of scrub pythons my next purchase. (That's a challenge :D )

What about you?

1. I think I enjoy medium snakes such as carpet pythons. I do enjoy larger snakes (I have a 7 foot boa as well) and I'm planning on one day getting a reticulated python when I have the money and space.

2. I enjoy challenging myself. I have a black rat who is somewhat aggressive and I love taking him out. I also get rescues here and there (stopped until we're settled now) and I get some challenging cases that I enjoy, such as an unfriendly boa, two pissy carpet pythons, flighty geckos, etc. I also challenge myself with faster and more aggressive species of tarantulas and I enjoy working with them.

3. I always told myself that I'm a boa-type of person since my second snake was my boa, Penny, but I realized I'm really into pythons. Boas can be pretty but I don't have enough interest to want many more. I find my girl very nice looking, though, don't get me wrong. Just pythons have a different character and more variety in looks.

4. My next snake will probably be an ETB or GTP. eastern indigo snake or a water python.

1. Smaller to medium snakes. Most of my favorite snakes are in that category and I enjoy providing big enclosures relative to the size of the snake. With larger snakes, the housing would be a burden.

2. Difficulty level doesn't matter for me. Only important thing is I that I enjoy keeping and observing the snakes I keep. If a snake is easy to work with, more power to me. If a snake is hard to work with, the challenge is fun. In the end, it comes down to what I like.

3. No real preference. Depends more on the species of each category. But my favorite snake is the carpet python.

4. Who knows

1) I like small- medium sized snakes 2'-8' although, I wouldn't mind a larger snake:p

2) I would assume everything is challenging to its own degree. I would enjoy having something challenging, yet enjoyable to keep.

3)I do not really have a preference, I like everything equally. Although I will sometimes have a couple animals I will obsess over from time to time lol

4) I'm hoping for my next animal to be a BCI

I like all sizes of snakes but stay away from giants. I also don't mind challenging or nippy snakes but I do prefer snakes I can handle without any drama. I also like a variety of pythons boas and colubrids. I will never keep hots. My next snake....not getting any until these pass of old age.

1, Giants, especially retics.. But i also love boa's of any size.

2, I love a challenge, i always fall for the snake most determined to kill me.

3, If i have to pick, ill pick pythons.. But Boa constrictor is really close.

4, Hard to say, Either a female Nicaragua (hypo or other) Or another retic.

I like medium sized snakes. 5-7 feet is perfect for me. I like snakes that are not too difficult but don't mind a little attitude. I'm definitely partial to colubrids but love pythons as well. My next purchase will most likely be a male snow bull snake followed by a carpet python.

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes?

Definitely prefer small to medium snakes.

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know?

Prefer to be challenged within certain boundaries.

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice?

Colubrids first, certain boa species next and then pythons, but only a few of the python species, like GTPs.

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be?

Most likely an Oreocryptophis porphyraceus species or two.

1. I enjoy larger snakes (but not gigantic) of course small snakes are great as well. :)

2. Right now I'm staying pretty much in my comfort zone.

3. This is hard. I've always loved boas but there's a soft spot in my heart for pythons, because of Kera. <3

4. I think I'm going to go with some sort of colubrid, maybe a small python. :)

I like this!

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes?

I don't have a size preference two of my absolute favourites are Hognoses and retics (:

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know?

I don't mind a challenging snake if I also have a calm snake I can handle without issues. But I also have no problem with hands-off species!

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice?

Definitely pythons! I like a handful of boas, but there are only a handful of pythons I don't like! Colubrids are starting to grow on me, too.

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be?

I am hoping to find the perfect hoggie or young retic at the reptile expo next month... But who knows if I'll fall in love with something before that too! Lol

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes? I'm fascinated by any size, but for ownership I stick to snakes that can be safely handled by a single person.

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know? I enjoy a challenge, but I think it's best to only steadily expand my comfort zone. Pushing too far too fast would not be in the best interest of the captive animal.

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice? Prefer pythons, but love boas as well. Carpet Pythons are easily my favorite captive snake.

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be? I will probably add a Green Tree Python one day, but that's way down the line. I am not interested in breeding and plan on keeping the snakes I have from hatchling until old age, so I have to add animals to the collection very steadily going forward.

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes? Pretty much anything except the giants.

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know? I like a challange.

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice? I've ended up more interested in the python species. Don't get me wrong, I like boas. But I just find myself gravitating more toward the pythons.

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be? I'd really like to hold off on any more purchases for awhile. Like to have more space before delving into anything else. But, my PLAN for my next addition is a Russian Rat or Indigo.

1. I don't really have a size preference: I am more attracted to the overall appearance and temperament of a species.

2. I like challenges. I'm currently working on breeding rare Indonesian pitvipers. I love learning new things, and trying to figure out what these animals need to thrive in captivity and successfully reproduce, so I'd say I'm continually pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

3. I'm into vipers primarily. I do like pythons and boas, but I am mainly a venomous keeper at this point. If I had to choose between pythons and boas though, I'd go with pythons. There's a lot more variety and I have a thing for snakes with heat pits.

4. Hmmm, I'm not sure really. I do have a current deal with a friend where I'm trading him back my P. nebularis, a female puff adder he needs for his breeding group, and a rhino viper I bought for him, and getting two habus, a male puff and a male eyelash viper. Other than that, I don't really have any purchasing plans, since my collection is pretty much full.

don't seem to be to many fans of the true giants here ( but that's OK because people like me have love for them lol), but if I ever did get hots eyelash vipers would be my choice, I love the orange and pink coloration ones.

I am a Colubrid guy- so smaller snakes. Like to stay in my comfort zone. Would like to buy a Great Basin Gopher next.

Interesting survey, but the questions are somewhat leading as the only two species offered are boas and pythons.:hmm:

1. Would you say you like smaller or larger snakes? Given that I only keep milk snakes now, I would say that I am into larger milk snakes i.e. Hondurans. Of course relative to boas and pythons these would usually be considered small snakes

2. Do you like working with challenging species or staying in your comfort zone with what you know? When you say challenging, I'm assuming that you mean maintaining appropriate environmental conditions challenging rather than snakes that tend to be aggressive and bite. Either way, right now, I prefer snakes that are not challenging and are rather easy to care for.

3. Would you say your more into boas, pythons or just don't really have a preference choice? I'm really not into boas, but I must admit that some of the pythons, especially carpet pythons are interesting. That said, I'll stick with Honduran Milk Snakes for the foreseeable future.

4. Lastly, making a future prediction what do you think your next buy will be? Tough question. I have five snakes now and with all the other commitments I have in my life, right now (Family, work, other hobbies/interests) that's all I want to have right now.

I prefer to keep small-medium snakes, they are much easier to house and handle.

no real preference I've kept a variety of snakes some more difficult then others but it has never stopped me from owning one.

Definitely boas.

I really like the dwarf locality species of boas, thinking about tarahumara mountain boas or cay caulker boas.
