Love the names.. My collection is mostly named after deities also! We pull from lore all over the world. We have a few Greco-Roman though. Venus and Aphrodite are my Dumeril's. Hades, the licorice rat, went awol ages ago...

She's way darker than her sister, like a very dark purple almost. Briseus is more typical brb colours.

And found a pair of guyana rainbows at WRCE this weekend. Wasn't looking to get anything, but friend stumbled across them and showed me them literally two minutes before the show closed saturday. My wallet doesn't like my friend haha.

And one of my 2013 babies, who is the DARKEST brb I have ever seen. Everyone else is just oranges and reds, but she is practically a dark purple/dark maroon. This pic actually lightens her up quite a bit. IRL she's much darker.
Like I mean, the new girl, Persephone, is a pretty dark red brb already, so this baby girl, Aphrodite, is just wow!

I eventually want one, but we don't have the room and my husband gets relocated often so moving large snakes might get tricky. So he told me I had to wait til he was at a more permanent location. Plus I just started with snakes so I'm still a newbie. So my day will come...someday.beautiful babies and snakes though.

What does bandana dog think of your snakes? ;-)
Oh Gunner? He's a twitt... while he doesn't care for the snakes, the other things he wants to kill - because he has a very high prey drive (rescue farm dog). He's killed my veiled, black rough neck monitor (about 7 months so small enough for him to hunt), hamster, and caught in the act of trying to eat the dead body of my 14yr old cockatiel - which was a tragic freak accident (the day I forgot to lock them up before going out, which normally isn't a probably anyways cause he's scared of the birds, is the day the damn dog learned how to open the ferret cage... And one of my ferrets does play/hunt prey and did such with my bird, then he figured "hey it's dead anyways so I'll eat it right?").
And he's OBSESSED with trying to have a go at my ferrets. I've had him for coming up on 3 yrs and he's always at the ferret cage, freaking out. He just won't learn... He drives me insane most days.
He has anxiety problems half the time when I'm gone out of the house because he is just soooo attached to me because I saved his life.
He's discovered that he has a voice, so he'll just run around the backyard, head up, barking at nothing - just because he can.
He's terrified of everyone else but me, which can be cute sometimes, but very annoying when he's under my feet all the time and I'm tripping. He's scared of cars (because he was hit by one and that's why he only has 3 legs and how I saved him) so I pretty much can't take him for walks living in a suburban area and I have to way out to an off leash park with no traffic nearby, oh and he's clumsy as all heck when on a leash, so it HAS to be off leash park. Sigh... Damn dog... I love him but I hate him at the same time.

And my other dog is like a damn cat 99% of the time. I don't like cats. :P (he's a Shiba, and if anyone knows shibas... they know what I mean...)
Other dog is always curious about the snakes. My male brb actually bite him on the nose cause he was all up in his grilled. I warned him to back off but he's all "ooooo what's this!!?!?" Kiba's fault. Oh well.
He's always taking the sheds out of the garbage when I turn my back to either eat them or rub himself in. Same with poo too, both old or fresh. He's ALWAYS around when it's cleaning time because he wants to see what's going on, and it gets annoying because now he's under my feet and I end up 'kicking' him more than I do cleaning.

And the bf is new to snakes so slowly introducing him into my world has been interesting too. Because I'll blab on about them or get excited about a new snake and just 'whoooosh....' over his head, cause he doesn't get it and will just look at me with a blank stare (so sometimes that makes me feel like the crazy snake lady). But it is great that he is willing and interested in learning about them. He's slowly getting over the idea of holding them, and is actually encouraged to hold them more often. He doesn't remember any of the names of species, though I don't see how hard it is to remember the four rainbow species I do have, because they all look different. But I guess to a non-herper, they all look the same. But he wants to learn so that's a start! (if he was scared of them, the relationship would never work lol)

I have a dysfunctional family. :P
