I just bought a 7 foot 20lbs hypo boa just three hours ago . The thing is When it breathes it sounds like a small hiss. Like if it were being defensive but it's a super calm boa. I'm just wondering if that is because of size and girth this boa has or signs of early respiratory infection. Should I be worried. Any solutions? Thanks in advance

They shouldn't hiss with normal breathing. Typically a defensive hiss is followed up with a strike. Any signs of discharge or bubbles from the nostrils? Isolate it from your other animals if you haven't already.

I know how hissing works haha. But no there is nothing leaking out anywhere and the nostrils are not clogged at all. And yes it's isolated. All my others are upstairs and this one is downstairs

Positive signs, and good call on location. Keep quarantine going just in case.
What did the former owner say about the sound?

They said the sound was because of size and weight. He's a big boy haha. And yeah. I'm going to keep him there for a while. I was talking to a buddy that used to be into boas and he said that I should just keep him a little warmer for a while
