no not my snake, looking through criagslist, and this guys selling his 1 & 1/2 year old sand boa.. he says it eats small pinkies every tuesdays..
i might be wrong but, at that age, is it normal to still be on pinkies?
turbines only a couple months and is on medium fuzzies. This snake looks thicker than her too.

Definitely should be on large fuzzies or hoppers....I have a year and a half old Anery female who just took her first adult mouse a few days ago. That sand boa definitely needs its prey size upped. Heck, my 2013 babies are already on fuzzies....

It will not hurt the snake if they want to feed it enough pinkies. It will cost a lot more to feed it a few pinkies as apposed to a fuzzie or a hopper.

From what you're saying, that snake definitely needs to be on some hoppers or fuzzies. There's alot of neglectful or just ignorant people on Craigslist.

Yeah, I ran across a CL add awhile back, and someone was selling a 3 year old Cali King Snake still on 2 pinkies!

So sad. I wish people would just do their research before buying a snake...ANY snake.

i have the money to buy her and save her, but currently with my working situation, i dont know if i should. making ends meet is hard right now. and i dont have anywhere to put her.
in additition, i've never had a sand boa, always rats, corns, and garters. i dont know much about them at all.

Gotta realize that you cant rescue every animal. Ive looked on craigslist and seen numerous posts on with snakes that desperately need a new home. If you dont have everything ready to go, and money is tight, then dont rescue it, not fair for the animal to go to a new home and find out that you cant care for it because of no money.. :/

I have a friend who is working on saving a boa with RI and is apparently really skinny and won't eat:/

Brilliant post.
Even when people have good intentions it doesn't mean it's the best situation for the animal.
Sometimes rescues need to be rescued from the rescuer.

It sucks, trust me. I see plenty of snakes I can save but just like you, I just do not have the room for another one.

The one thing about Craigslist is, you never know what you might be bringing into your home. That is why I tend to stay away from Craigslist and stick to my specific friends and contacts if looking to add to my collection.
Oh, and if you ever decide to get into Sand Boas, or even just get one, you can always message me here, i'd be happy to answer any questions you might have:)

i dont want to risk the safety of my animals.
but i want her.
i know i cant have her, i have no where to put her.
i just got the call, i got another job.
so money wouldnt be an issue.
seeing an animal that needs help, and knowing i cant do anything is heart wrenching.
