I realize that this topic has been discussed here before and I checked the threads related to lighting but I still have a couple of questions. I have a couple of black 36X23X14 inch Pro-Line cages on order for my Honduran milk snake(s). I know that I will need to add lighting to them. I was initially planning on going with under-counter fluorescent lighting mounted at the top front of the cages behind the top "lip" over the door. I have read about the LED lights and wondered if there is any real advantage to either system? The difference in the cost of electricity to run these lights on two cages is negligible, so I guess it's down to how well they light a cage and personal preferences. Any thoughts, recommendations or experiences you can share are very much appreciated.

I went for LED's as they give off next to no heat, can be hidden well, last for ages, cost little to run, don't need any sort of guard and the ones I got you can change the colour on them with a little dial so it didn't have to be white light all the time. I got mine from ikea and they came in strips about 10" long so you can just add another strip if you want more light but I use two strips in a 3' viv and it is more than enough.
