ok my mom said i can get a ball python been wanting 1 for years well the problem is while i was on the verge of getting somethingi choose a bearded dragon due to my mom's fears of snakes and well now i have a 40 gal breeder fish tank with the $1 per gal sale i know it's hard to keep humidity in there and was wondering with news papper and boarding 75% of the screen top would this solve the problem

also looking on when we would get repticon there are no dates and i have no idea of any breeders and searching google comes up with too many and unsure. im looking to get some morphs but no idea of prices i know they can get expensive if none is in my price range then i might just get some normals 50 or 100 shipped
200 for morphs would love to get a spider but open
also the price is looking to get pairs of same sex so they dont breed probally females as they get larger but males would be ok. it will be a while and need to get all the other stuff should be around november

Okay. It's obvious your a teen of some sort.

Can you phrase this in actual questions please?

Do you have a bearded dragon or are you getting a snake? Let's start there.

You could use the tank but it will definitely take some work to keep the humidity in the proper range. As the old saying goes, fish tanks are for fish and there are enclosures specially designed for reptiles for multiple reasons. In your last paragraph, it sounds as if you plan to keep more than one snake per enclosure. Generally that's not a great idea for a few reasons. Competition for resources, inability to determine which snake did what case of illness, etc. I'd do a little more research before jumping in with both feet. Your animal will really do a lot better if you have all your ducks in a row before purchasing it.

ok first off i do not have anything yet, i was getting my list of everything needed for a bearded dragon then my mom seen pictures of them and said there to close go ahead and get a snake. i'm not a teenager im 23 and due to price of living i pay my mom rent and buy my own food but i do have rules like an apartment building and 1 of those rules got lifted.

i'm asking about properly setting up the fish tank for humidity. with boarding up 75% of the screen top and using newspaper with a mister/fogger will i get the right humidity or do i need to invest in just coco husk shavings and not worry about boarding up. i know that snakes need's belly heat and humidity and that fish tanks are wrong but petco had there $1 per gal sale before the rule got lifted. and fish tanks works for bearded dragons 40 gal is just right for 1 adult and at $40 couldn't pass it up then a week later she changes her mind.

ok about the 2 snakes yes i know they can't be housed together as they can be canibales and for above reasons mentioned also. you can make separators very easy and with proper set up it wont fall with snakes climbing with out interfering with the envourment. but that set up would only last a year or 2 maybe 3 at most then i would need to change 1 to a bigger tank and let 1 have the current one to himself. like i said no repticon schedualed and im not driving 250 miles to go to one. so a list of good breeders with the right prices/description. or an avg price list of morphs would be very handy as i refuse to get animals from petco/petsmart

like i said i have been wanting a snake for years ever since i was 8 i have done research and know alot but not having actual experence is my current problem (actually testing humidity levels) and looking up "setting aquiruim tanks humidity levels for ball pythons" seems like its alot of hit or miss information out there some say newspaper/paper towels are ok others say use coco husk.
i know i can just sell the tank and buy a proper one but after my last incident on craigslist i won't use it again i found that 1 crazy person that sounded sane

So because you had ONE issue you're animal may suffer now? Great.
Honestly, sell the tank on facebook then and buy a proper one. It will save you so much grief from having to fiddle with things that to me it's worth it, but hey I value my time.

As for substrates, you'll have to figure it out. I use newspaper and paper towels but I use a proper enclosure so I don't need foggers or anything. I simply use a water dish and I get perfect sheds all the time. If you have a screen top, I'd use coco husk as there's a better chance of keeping it.

Don't use dividers. Don't be stingy. If you can't afford to house two snakes right now, then only house one. You'll encounter more problems with this with temps and humidity than you think.
