Copperhead?

Hopefully the picture attached. I live in central Texas in a wooded area. The tail was a neon greenish color. I need to know if it's a copperhead. We have ducks, chickens, cats and dogs plus small children who love playing in the yard.

it DOES look like a copperhead to me.

There are options other than killing the snake to get it off of your property, but i'd wait for someone with more experience to confirm the ID.

if you're concerned that they may be denning too close to your home, you can try to (carefully) eliminate woodpiles, brush piles, piled debris etc near your house and barns.

Thanks we don't actually have anything piled up in our fenced off yard when the animals am kids are. This guy was under our duck pond when I lifted it to dump and clean it. We can't eliminate that unfortunately. Thanks for your help :))
