So the first time I fed my carpet was two weeks ago I believe. before that, the last time she ate was 6/10. The last meal she had was just a small rat which is WAY too small for her but it was all we could get at the time. So the week after we tried feeding her a medium rat (we had two for her) and she wouldnt eat it. I've tried feeding her 3 or 4 times and she just won't take it. Could it be because of the bacterial infection in her mouth? The last time I tried she started eating it the dropped it and no longer cared about it. Should I just wait until her mouth is completely healed? (We have 18 more days till we're done having to give her injections) We have no more rats at the moment but we very easily get them. Thanks in advance for help <3

also, she just started going into her hide again which she hasn't since I first got her which was July 30th! Could it also be cuz she's going into shed? When I got her I was told she would in about 2 months so she's due for one pretty soon.

You tried to feed her when she has an infection in her mouth and is going into shed? Just wait a bit...

Yeah just wait untill she's recovered. It's amazing how long these python's get go without eating; and a few weeks is nothing. Id say wait a week or two after she's recovered from her treatment so she's nice and hungry. Sometimes it's frustrating when your snake doesn't eat. But if she's eaten before, she will eat again. Just enjoy the next few weeks not having to spend money buying rats; thats how I look at it.

You're quite optimistic. :) Thanks she's already getting better. I think she only has 4 more injections. I'm so glad she's a nice snake. doesn't strike or hiss when we give her the shot. She tenses up then she goes into her hide to be away from us. The next day, she's all good!
