Our IJ never goes to the bathroom in his enclosure. I'll take him out about once a day, hold him for 10 minutes and then let him roam around the yard. Within seconds of being on the grass he starts wiggling his *** and takes a poo/pee. He does this every time, without fail. I have not seen crap or urates in his cage for months.
Is this a thing? Can carpets really be "house-trained"

Thank you. :) He's a jag sib and a bit of a mutt, but we adore his personality. Our new IJ Granite will be arriving next week from Nick Mutton. It'll be interesting to see if we can get her to poop outside as well.

Haha that's pretty cool. He probably feels free when hes outside and maybe the grass stimulates him.

I don't know about "trained" but they can certainly have preferences. He doesn't want crap in his cage. LOL.

Nice jag sib. I cannot wait to see pics of your next snake, I love Nick's granite line, he puts out some intense looking snakes.

I take most of my snakes outside a couple times a week and the movement, stimulus and sun light always makes em poop in the yard. Takes 10 minutes tops! Haha.

Franks, I also cannot wait to have pics of the Granite girl! We were supposed to get her last Monday, but we've had three straight weeks of 100 degree weather. Hopefully it actually cools down next week like the weather muppet claims.. The wait is killing me.
Derek, that sounds just like Kingsley. The warm grass must tickle his man parts or something. Either way, it is funny having a snake who's too anal retentive to crap in his own cage. Haha.
